I know the current root system sucks, the binary is outdated and unrooting is hard too but fear not! Here I am to the rescue :')

This is the guide to properly root your atvX device without any hassles or prior knowledge.

1. Enable Root from Settings

2. Download the apk mentioned at the end.

3. Install the above apk in your box.

4. You will now see a superSU icon on the home screen, click and open it.

5. It will now tell you that your binary is outdated, just click ok and click Normal option.

6. Wait for a few seconds and it will tell you that your binary has now been updated.

7. Enjoy full SU rights with a root manager.

8. You can even fully unroot the device from the SuperSU settings! Just go to settings in SuperSU, scroll down and select Full Unroot

[Experimental]
Problem: You sometimes want root and for some apps you need it Off completely.

Solution: Do the above Guide to step 7.
Then instead of "Full Unroot" in settings make SuperSU app a System App.
This Option is done inside the SuperSU settings menu.
Reboot device.
Then SuperSU and Root are functioning.
Now you want Root Off, then just Disable the SuperSU apk in Android Settings.
Reboot device.

Results: Install some Root Checker apk and scan device for Root, it should not find it. At least for me this was not showing Root. Then can just Enable the SuperSU apk when need Root.

I was NOT paying attention to which box I was using and thought I was installing SuperSU apk in my box running AtvX. When it was a stock firmware box that has Root built-in, so this is how I came to this experiment, lol.

If want or need the last Zip install version of SuperSU download here:
SuperSU_v2.82-SR5

Tested that version, worked great on atvX-v2FF
This Su version I had to do a fresh Clean Install of AtvX firmware to get it to Root correctly, because of all the testing and dirty flashes I had been doing previously on my TVbox the zip wouldn't patch the boot.img correctly and would abort install. With also updating the Busybox to 1.30.1-Stericson, the TVbox seems to excute tasks faster, may just be my imagination though

Hi, I tried apk you said but nothing doesn't work the root is deleted as root root checker says but entering netflix it always tells me the same thing that the device has the root.
I also tried to put the new firmware back but nothing.
What can I do?
