[DISCUSSION] S905x3 - What the f**k?! Every year a new soc?

Even though I like Amlogic a lot, this updated chip will still be under-powered compared to what Rockchip's new mid-level multimedia CPU planned to be released by the end of the year, the RK3530, it will be able to perform like the S922X for less money.
It is still worth upgrading to the new S905X3 for those people that still have the very old 800 series chips, or S905, or S905W, or old S905X chipsets. If you already have S905x2 or even an S912 then no need to upgrade to the new SoC.
Fair warning a lot of the early TVbox releases of the S905X3 devices are shipping with DDR3 ram. Better to wait and make sure the device you get has DDR4 or LPDDR4 Ram. Slower performing DDR3 is just one of the ways these manufactures will be trying to cut costs in these devices.
I am currently waiting for Khadas to send me there new version of the VIM device with the S905D3 which is a twin of the new S905X3, should get it by first week of November.
Off-Topic: If you live in a country where Amazon sells the FireTV CUBE(2019), this new 2nd Gen device has the powerful Amlogic S922X cpu with Android 9 underneath the FireTV-OS and I am really considering getting one if they have a good discount during Black Friday holiday sales.
