Hi there,
A short report about my test of ATV Exprience on a Alfawise X 3200.
If you want to know more about this "smart" projector, please read here: https://androidpctv.com/review-alfawise-x-3200/
Hereunder the main specs of this device:
AMLogic S905X Cortex-A53 Quad Core 2.0GHz
GPU Mali-450MP
RAM 1 GB DDR3
Storage 8 GB eMMc
WiFi WiFi b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0

Yesterday I spent some time playing with the atvX 2H 2019 rom on this device.
The process to burn the rom is strightfoward:
0) Activate the usb debugging mode on the Alfawise
1) Amlogic USB Burning tool + male/male usb cable from the pc to 1 of the usb ports of the X 3200
2) Open USB burning tool and load the atvx 2H image file: press start.
3) plug the power and usb cables (USB 2 port is better) and turn the X 3200 on (no reset button to push)
4) Wait until the process is over

The rom was installed without problems, but:
- the wi-fi doesn't work
- the remote controller doesn't work. Workaround: I used a 2-bucks mini keyboard
- bluetooth doesn't work

Despite the above, the interface was loaded and the rom was ok, smooth with a nice look and feel.
In case some developers want to solve the above problems...well they are welcome O:-) . Have to check the wifi and bluetooth chipsets in the next days.

WARNING: In case you want to restore the original stock rom of the Alfawise X 3200 (https://androidpctv.com/firmware-projec ... -10102018/) , a workaround is available (and I was lucky to find it). You have to burn a MXQ device firmware and then update it with the alfawise package.

Hmm, interesting device. I think wifi is possible, every information is already on the forum, you just have to search it. See the tutorials section for wifi and remote fix.

**UPDATE**
I tried to google around to find info about the wireless module of the Alfawise X 3200 without success. So I decided to tear it down and here we go:

The "smart" part of the projector is based on a 2-layers pcb: on top the S905X covered by a black ribbon and the wireless module: an Azurewave AW-NH665.

Googling around, it's based on BCM4330 with bluetooth and even FM radio (AZW Module665 BCM4330B1 37.4 MHz Class 1.5 ExtLNA). This chip was into the Google's Nexus 7 tablet 1st gen.

I'll check in sdk if there's a bcm4330 wifi available. I think it should be.
Read the wifi fixing guide too.

Hi there,
I'm resuming this old discussion for some updates.
The device went through some troubles when I started playing with some firmwares and it took time to have the bricked P212 S905X board available again.
That's why I decided to solder 3 wires on the serial port which was extremely useful to have ATV Experience working on this projector.
To make things short:
- wifi and BT work. I followed the guide on the forum, but it didn't work. The serial console helped me to discover that the "/system/etc/wifi" folder only from the stock rom must be copied in the case of my device. If I overwrite the files in "/system/bin" the rom doesn't work and the system hangs during the load of the system. The wifi driver is:

Code: Select all

Final fw_path=/etc/wifi/AP6330/Wi-Fi/fw_bcm40183b2.bin
It's available from the package here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Lz_kxX ... sp=sharing
- the remote control doesn't work but it's not critical.
That's all.

-- Return of experience from a S905X board and the serial console --
Working with the serial console was funny.
Image
My projector doesn't have a reset button and I arrived to the point where the latest firmware I burnt stopped any interaction between the usb port of the projector and USB burning tool on the PC. The projector got stucked in a infinite loop and I was conviced that I bricked the board.
Then I soldered tree wires on the serial port of the board , connected them to a USB - TTL CP2102 serial converter, opened Tera Term at 115200 baud and the magic happened.
I haven't found any documents before about the interaction between the serial console and booting/loading process, but at least on my board there are some.
For example, at boot time, if you press immediately a key on Tera Term, a "glx p212" shell is available. There's a "help" command returning the list of the commands available. For example it's possible to start a usb port, print on screen the usb tree, reboot from usb, reboot from recovery and so on. In general, reading the output of the serial console, there's a moment during the start up process where a message is printed to stop the booting by pressing a key.
Writing "update" as an input, the device returns "UsbisBurn" enabling the interaction with USB Burning tool: this is how I flashed the rom on the blocked board. As soon as the flash tool starts, the serial console must be disconnected or the flash fails.

If you wait the OS to be loaded, the serial console print out on the screen what's going on while the OS is loading. This is how I discovered the problem with the wifi drivers. The shell is always available, but it's another shell which depends on the rom. For atv experience the shell prompts "S905X".

Finally, the main message is: if you have a bricked device, the serial console may help you to do a lot of things (even without shorting the NAND).

Link is dead. Do you still have this build?
