Have you updated your router/modem firmware?
Have you reset your router/modem? Unplug for 10 minutes and unplug your tv stick for the same, then plug both back into live power and see if your connection improves.

This is not a hardware problem. Android version 6.0.1 wifi works very stable. My wifi box chip is rtl8723bs.
