Hi guys, please can you help. I tried to flash the ATVexperience ROM for the S905X from the website via SD card method (s905w_atvXperience_v2FF) and unfortunately bricked my device. It is listed as the Amlogic S905X 2Gb Ram ROM: 16G variant.
I have now tried the USB Burning Tool method but it aborts at 4% consistently with repeated device disconnect/reconnect Windows sounds. I wonder whether it is the wrong ROM for the device. Can anyone assist or advise?

Well Nexbox A95X with S905X does not and should never be installed with the "s905w_atvXperience_v2FF" like you said. Another thing the v2FF version can only be installed with Amlogic burning tool, you said "via SD card method" so again you would have problems.
Read the tutorials again, here on this forum or on AndroidPCtv.com , to make sure you are not doing something wrong. Also make sure you are on the latest version of Amlogic USB Burning Tool. If you are doing the procedure correct, have the world cup drivers installed on pc, and on the most current Tool v.2.1.7 ; then the next step is probably to Short-the-Nand-Pins to get the device to reset and then you will be able to flash the device.
For best results also locate a stock firmware for your device exact model online at places like Chinagadgetsreviews.com so you can return the device to Stock if you have too, before burning device with atvXperience.

Hi ricklar, thanks for your reply - appreciate it. I thought I'd selected the wrong ROM: would you be able to tell me which would be the correct ROM for my device?
I'll try and find stock firmware for my device in the meantime and whether I can short the device out.

If it's a B7N, no chance it won't flash atvx s905x version. Check what processor you have, open the board and send me a photo

Looks like you have a different board. I have the same box, same numbering on the PCB but you seem to have a different NAND and RAM and also a different WiFi chip.
Do you have a stock ROM that you can flash?

A 4% error occurs 99% because of a different dt-id that the manufacturer of your box has hard-coded in the uboot. During an upgrade, the dtb header (dt-id) will be read out by uboot and compared to the hard-coded aml_dt value, both must be the same, otherwise the upgrade process will abort.Firentiosis wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 3:23 pm IMG_20190722_162203.jpg
Here's the closeup with heatsink removed.
Nayam I don't have a stock ROM, no.
...
Do you have the possibility to create a UART / TTL connection with your box?
Or try to boot to CoreElec on an SDcard, then we can try to read original dt-id via Linux..
Please take another picture of the back of the board
