I used atvx on my x96 box and loved the interface, I really do think the firmware should be available for other chip types like the new allwinner h616. and devs want to take this on?

Currently the H616 Allwinner chipset is not being supplied in any good hardware. In my opinion, this chip is a budget chip that cannot compete against Amlogic chipsets currently. For the most part Allwinner doesn't have great support to begin with.

If you are an Allwinner fan, the H6 powered Tanix TX6 is a decent budget device for basic 720p/1080p streaming. The OEM did the right thing and added the Device to Linux mainline kernel support, so Linux developers have been able to make Armbian-Debian/Ubuntu images and LibreELEC images for that device.
