[HELP] Weird S905 A95X box - No display but working

:grinning: I have an A95X 1g/8g that was giving the "no hdmi signal" issue. This happened after I removed the heatsink. I remember applying pressure to the processor got it working.
One night, out of sheer frustration, I slammed it down on a table so hard, it refused to come back on.
Never thought about keeping constant pressure on the processor though. :grimacing:

This sounds like the processor is not soldered properly and I wonder if a couple seconds in an oven would help.

Mine is totally dead now. The heating thing made even the AV output dead.
Well, looks like this one will go in trash now. Sadly...

Sorry to hear that. I have added mine to my growing collection of bricked or destroyed boxes.
(1 MX, 3 MX2s, 2 MXQs, 1 MXQ Pro, 1 Nexbox A95X).
Look on the bright side, next time you will know what to do.
Out of curiosity, how did you heat it?

Took a matchstick to heat it😂
I now have 2 bricked boxes. One s905x and one s905.

My other s905x box has no processor 😂 Can you help me put it back?😂
I was trying to take off the heatsink, it was glued to the processor, I tried taking it off and the heatsink along with the processor came off😂😂

Damn, that's really bad. :grimacing:
I wish we could sell it for parts, but... :))

Well now others will know that they will have to be extremely careful when playing around with the heatsinks on these things. I usually just slide a thin knife between the processor and heatsink, never applied heat to soften the glue. Next time I will try using a razor and a blow dryer.

Thanks for your experiments. :relaxed:

nope, it'll be a waste of time and money and where I live, I don't think there's any repair shop that has done repairs on tv boxes.
