s905x lost recovery

Hello,
I have a x96 - S905X box with 16gb samsung eMMC and 2gb nanya DDR3 ram p212 AFAIK
it came with android 6 and I've been trying to flash it for a few days now.
Most ROMs gave me an

error and failed.
I tried all of the atvx4 roms and none worked.
I tried to flash android 7 before 9 as a stepping stone
the only one that worked was

but now I lost my recovery (when I use the toothpick or "reboot to recovery" app I go straight to full os)
and the only way I can flash is by running a root shell and calling reboot update

I can flash things by using the OS trick I just don't know what to flash. No firmware works except the 7.5 Aidan's rom one
