My box is still on the way so cant open the box. I know I am too excited for new OS version even being without the hardware. I kind of roll like this

I was aiming for price point lower than 2k INR (custom duty bachao), so was going to order S905w, but later realized S905X is slightly better. One of my criteria of selecting a product is no. of orders being placed and seems magicsee has lots of order. thus the box.

And now i find it really strange that this thing is not performing normally even though teardown shows correct chip.
my best guess (as an ex owner of nexus 7), the storage is absolutely abysmal in performance resulting in slow performance of the box.

in anyway, if this box arrives then tinkering will begin, otherwise i will go for another box (probably Allwinner H6 or S905X2) .

I recently flashed my magicsee N5 with the atvxperience firmware, while the user interface is a major improvement on the stock firmware, I am facing issues with sound, where the sound packet drops. is any one facing the same issue. Forum wouldn't allow me to add mp4

This doesn't happen with me. Could be either the hdmi cable or the tv. Try resetting it maybe?

Thanks for the reply, for now I've put the stock firmware back, it could be the tv too. Its an old version of panasonic with unusual screen size of 37 inches.

I have that problem with one of my N5 with a TV from Crown, when i forced the display to 1080p in screen options the problem with the sound disapeared.
I think that is probably some bad line with auto detect screen code that makes that error.

Try it and see if it solves the problem.

Rom Oreo works well with N5, just fix wifi, bluetooth, led clock is perfect.

Yes I agree Oreo works on n5 good but when you run perfect player or some other iptv apps video lags like crazy ...
