Have you tried all the TWRP files from https://apps.atvxperience.com ? What about from AndroidTVpc.com - I posted link in my TWRP tutorial post. Or have you checked and tried all the TWRP for S905W from https://forum.freaktab.com ???

guys i installed the twrp.apk but when i open it i cannot find where to choose the img from within the app to flash it. It only says to select my device and i cannot find x96 mini in the list. Am i doing something wrong?
p.s my x96 mini is running stock oreo.

You downloaded the twrp-recovery.img made for S905W and inserted in SDcard ? Yes, but still app can not see it...

Ok, then problem is with the Official TWRP app, with the latest version 1.21 and newer you can not see the directory /sdcard to pick file from or even see the directory for external_SD. Solution is to use the older version of TWRP.apk, I keep the old version 1.19 saved to Micro-SDcard so always have the working version. Also note when the Official-TWRP app ask to sign-in Google account, I never do this.
